October is here and the spookiest month of the year has brought a new host of bugs, fish and sea creatures to our islands in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
If you manage to catch every fish, bug and sea creature, you will not only complete two of the Museum exhibits, but also unlock two Golden Tools DIY recipes.
On this page you can find every creature that is getting here and leaving your island, because, while the Critterpedia may contain the details for each creature you catch, it will only do so after you catch them, which is a little annoying if you’re having trouble hunting certain specimens down.
Just like September, there’s a variety of new creatures for you to hunt down in October, from the bottom of the sea to your island’s rivers, so make sure you don’t miss anything!

New Animal Crossing bugs, fish and sea creatures arriving in October
At the start of every month in New Horizons a brand-new collection of bugs, fish and sea animals arrive on your island.
Capturing these new creatures will help you complete the Museum exhibits, the Critterpedia and bring you closer to unlocking the Golden Fishing Rod and Net DIY recipes, so it’s always worth knowing what the new arrivals are.
It should be noted that the following only applies to the northern hemisphere.

Animal Crossing bugs, fish and sea creatures leaving in October
For something new to arrive, something old must always leave and the creatures in New Horizons follow this principle. Due to this, you’ll want to make sure that you haven’t missed anything near the end of every month or you might find yourself waiting quite a while.
It’s a good idea to focus on the creatures leaving your island at the beginning of the month, because, that way, you’ll take away the pressure of catching them.

From the off, there’s fish and bugs to capture, flowers and fruit to grow with Leif selling seeds, villagers to add or remove and tools such as the new ladder and vaulting pole to collect.
Once you have settled in, you’ll want to be making as many Bells as possible, start collecting K.K. Slider songs and work on your island star rating, increase your HHA ranking, incorporate Feng Shui into your room design and acquiring kitchen furniture. You can also buy fake art from Redd, use the Dream Suite and island backup.
